The owners put a lot of care into making their ramen, but the downside is that due to its popularity, you might have to queue up with others during meal times.

Ichigou Ramen
You can also enjoy delicious Kyushu-style Japanese ramen in Luodong, Yilan. Blogger Pingzi recommends Ichigou Ramen in Luodong. Only 100 bowls of ramen are made daily, and the broth is simmered for 10 to 12 hours each day using fresh ingredients. The noodles are springy and firm, and the pork slices are marbled just right. In addition to ramen, the shop also serves karaage chicken and fried tofu.

Yatai Ramen
Originally located in Dongshan, this shop operated as a yatai (street food cart), serving only 50 bowls per day. It has now opened a new location in Yilan City, with the original street cart displayed in the new shop’s yard. The menu includes pork bone ramen, hell ramen, and soy sauce ramen.

Menkonka
If you’re looking for authentic ramen in Yilan, Menkonka is one of the top recommendations. Their ramen broth is a pork bone soup simmered for over ten hours, resulting in a mild and smooth flavor.
