First flights to Japan in Q1 next year   Tigerair Taiwan targets Tokyo and Osaka

Following the launch of Taipei-Singapore flights, Tigerair Taiwan recently announced that it will commence services to Bangkok and Chiang Mai on November 14 and 15 respectively. Regarding future flight plans, Tigerair Taiwan stated that Japan routes will begin in the first quarter of next year (2015), targeting popular Japanese destinations among Taiwanese travelers such as Tokyo and Osaka, also to be operated using the A320 aircraft.

Since launching Taipei-Singapore flights, Tigerair Taiwan has been actively expanding its route network. After commencing services to Thailand and Chiang Mai in mid-November, the airline will invite its celebrity endorsers, Hao Jia-Xiang Qi, to perform and host a sharing session onboard in December. Regarding the next phase of route expansion, Tigerair Taiwan spokesperson Li Ming-Yan stated that applications for Japanese air rights are currently underway, with a focus on major cities favored by Taiwanese travelers. Direct flights to Japan are expected in the first quarter of next year (2015), although the exact launch date has yet to be confirmed.
