Finally making progress – The new branch of Xiang Ji Cheng may be located in the Huilong area of Xinzhuang

A beloved childhood memory and a long-awaited return after 20 years, Xiang Ji Cheng reopened in August 2016 at Bali’s Left Bank in New Taipei City. However, less than a year later, the Bali branch had to close in February 2017 due to the expiration of its lease. At that time, Xiang Ji Cheng had mentioned plans to relocate to a larger and more convenient location, and now there are rumors that the new spot may be in the Xinzhuang area of New Taipei City.

Residents in the Huilong area of Xinzhuang District may have noticed that the McDonald's at Bao Ya on Long’an Road has moved out and the space is now under renovation. Although the construction fence hasn't displayed any promotional material for a new tenant, the job ads on the fence feature a large rooster image, sparking speculation that this might be the new site of Xiang Ji Cheng.

It is understood that Xiang Ji Cheng's new outlet is planned for the Xinzhuang area, so the former McDonald's site on Long’an Road has a high chance of becoming the new branch. If it does indeed open here, customers will soon be able to order their favorite hand-pulled chicken and sit down to enjoy it at leisure. However, since Xiang Ji Cheng’s official Facebook page has not yet released any information, the opening may still be some time away. Sources say that because renovation has just begun, the opening date has not been confirmed, but efforts are being made to open before the end of the year.
