Newly Opened Ice Cream Shop in Taipei Brings a Pink Pool and Blue-and-White Sailboats Indoors

This summer is so adorable and pinky. In addition to the pink picture book and the Shiba Inu Dango’s Xingxing Studio introduced last month, July also saw the opening of a pink summer ocean-themed ice cream shop “ICE Mountain” in a Taipei alley. It offers various creative shaved ice and freshly blended juice milk. Even before stepping inside, just looking at the pastel blue and pink tones of the shop from the outside makes you feel refreshed.

ICE Mountain has a relatively long rectangular space with about 20 seats. The entire shop follows a summer ocean concept in shades of pink-blue, white, and pink. There's a cute lifebuoy placed in front of the central counter, and the walkways are lined with white tables. A whole row of natural light streams into the little shop, creating a very comfortable vibe.

The window-side seating design gives off a vibe similar to that of a Korean-style café, but there are also small round tables in front of the window seats, which might feel a bit too cramped when people come and go.

One of the most attractive sections here is the pink-and-blue brick seat area near the alley entrance, designed with a pool concept. The pink-and-blue hues are very healing, but upon closer look, the arrangement of the seats seems a little confusing as to how one should sit.

ICE Mountain feels like a sailboat loaded with ice desserts and juices, navigated by a few guys behind the counter. The space is decorated in shades of pink-blue and pink. Starting daily at 11:30 AM, they craft individual portions of creative ice desserts and juice milk. The color scheme is adorable, the service is warm, and the pink-blue space feels like sailing the seas — cool air filled with cheerful tunes.

The adorably designed neon logo tubes resemble a snow mountain of ice, and besides the pink-and-blue brick seat area, ICE Mountain also has a photogenic pink bathhouse section decorated with cute and fun float ring coasters.

We ordered the signature mango shaved ice. The mango-flavored shaved ice was smooth but slightly too sweet. On the side were fresh, sweet slices of Irwin mangoes in season, topped with soft, creamy, and refreshing Liu Dai Tian Zhuang fresh milk curd. Overall, the experience was decent, but nothing particularly surprising.

Currently, ICE Mountain offers five flavors of shaved ice. Besides the mango flavor, the pearl milk tea shaved ice is said to be quite popular. They also serve freshly blended juices and juice milk. As the pearls were not available when we visited, the photo below was taken of a neighboring table’s pearl milk tea shaved ice just as we were leaving.
