The reason I wanted to dine at ChuShi Handmade was because I was attracted by their fan page mentioning the customizable meal service~~~Plus, I’ve always loved brunch, and seeing so many visitors with great reviews, of course I had to come and try it too.

ChuShi puts more effort into their food, while the dining environment is simple and comfortable — after all, delicious food is what matters most when customers come to eat!!! P.S., before coming to ChuShi, you might want to follow their fan page, as they often offer hidden menu items not listed on the regular menu!!

It was a weekday when I came to eat, and just over an hour after opening, the shop was already packed with diners. Their business is really booming!!! This made me even more excited for the food — it must be super satisfying!!!

There are many sauces and utensils by the entrance. Actually, it seems that many brunch spots in Tainan have adopted this approach — very generous and not worried about customers wasting anything.

There are also some imported sodas for sale near the counter, and they look really good~~~~

Brunch comes with a bowl of thick soup, and drinks include coffee or Hongyu No. 18 (a famous black tea from Sun Moon Lake). Of course, you can also pay extra to choose other drinks. The biggest difference with the thick soup here compared to other places is that it has a lot of finely chopped vegetables — you barely need to chew them. This kind of soup could probably trick kids who don’t like veggies.

ChuShi Hong Kong-style Breakfast $160
To be honest, the meals at ChuShi are really quite affordable, but they’re not sloppy just because they’re cheap. This Hong Kong-style brunch is pretty unique and relatively rare elsewhere. The main staples are Ice Fire Pineapple Buns from Lian Ying Fa and the chef’s char siu. The pineapple buns are obviously best eaten hot right when they’re served!!! And the char siu is even skewered with bamboo sticks — very thoughtful.

Salad is usually a basic green salad, but since some people don’t like raw greens, ChuShi also said they can customize it to a fruit salad ((I was totally here for this... so one meal kept the original green salad, the other was switched to fruit salad). But hey, ChuShi’s green salad is really just a LOT of greens XDDD super green!!

ChuShi American Power Breakfast $170
You can definitely tell this is the one I ordered — because it has my favorite German sausages XDD For just over a hundred bucks, it comes with German sausages, bacon, freshly baked milk toast, scrambled eggs, potato balls, and salad. Isn’t that a great deal~ Isn’t that a great deal~

The toast can be dipped in their house-made jam, which I also highly recommend. The jam is made with simple, pure ingredients and has a rich, sweet flavor.

The fruit consists of some fresh seasonal produce. What caught my eye was that the staff even kindly removed the grape stems~~><

Besides brunch, ChuShi also sells pasta and light meals, all reasonably priced. I’d like to try their pasta next time~~~
