The Wuling National Forest Recreation Area in Taichung is located in the Heping District of Taichung City, best known for the landlocked salmon, a national treasure fish found in the Qijiawan Stream. As deep autumn arrives, various foliage plants are turning red, bringing a romantic autumn charm to the forests of Wuling.

Among them, the green maple is an endemic plant species in Taiwan, with narrowly triangular leaves that turn from yellow to orange and then to red in autumn, displaying a rich and vibrant palette. The "fragrant maple" also changes color in the fall, but unlike the green maple, its leaves are arranged alternately.
