Hong Kong’s “Central Wheel” will officially begin operations on November 25

The “Central Wheel” located along Hong Kong’s Central waterfront is expected to open on November 25. Visitors will be able to take a ride on the slowly ascending Ferris wheel and enjoy stunning views of Victoria Harbour from various angles. Operator Swiss AEX had originally planned to launch operations in September this year, but due to construction delays, the wheel is now expected to attract one million passengers annually.

The Ferris wheel, expected to begin operations on November 25, stands 60 meters tall and features 42 gondolas, each capable of carrying 8 to 10 people. Each ride lasts between 15 to 20 minutes, with waiting times estimated to be within 20 minutes. The current tentative fare is HK$100 per adult per ride and HK$70 per child. Leon Snep, CEO of operator Swiss AEX, stated that the giant Ferris wheel was manufactured in the Netherlands and designed to meet the world’s highest safety standards to withstand Hong Kong’s strong winds, including those during a No. 10 typhoon signal.
