The end of August 22 is not the end — Taiwanese cuisine restaurant Shan Hai Lou will make a comeback at the end of the year

Taiwanese cuisine restaurant Shan Hai Lou, opened in 2014 by Yong Fong Yu Biotech in a standalone Japanese-style Western-style building, had to cease operations as the historic property was included in an urban renewal project. August 22 was its final day of business. However, Shan Hai Lou is not disappearing — it has found a new location on Ren'ai Road in Taipei and plans to reopen by the end of the year.

Shan Hai Lou focuses on inheriting traditional banquet-style dishes, using local Taiwanese ingredients to create authentic Taiwanese cuisine, while also striving to convey the spirit and philosophy of Taiwanese food. During this hiatus before reopening, the restaurant will work even harder to rediscover lost classic dishes and revive their former delicious flavors.
