Admire art in the old vault — Free admission to Yilan Art Museum during trial operation period

Yilan Art Museum, renovated from a historic building, has finally officially opened and entered its trial operation phase after long-term planning and preparation. From now until February 23 of next year, the public can visit the museum free of charge.

The predecessor of Yilan Art Museum was the former Land Bank of Taiwan, Yilan Branch. The three-story building was constructed in 1899 and registered as a historic building in 2002. After being taken over by Yilan County Government in 2012, it began planning to become Yilan Art Museum, showcasing artworks by various renowned artists. The museum also fully preserves the original vault doors and wooden dining area from the Land Bank era, offering visitors the unique experience of appreciating art as if inside a vault.

The opening ceremony on the 16th also attracted many renowned artists from various fields of the arts and culture sector to witness the event. Wu Tse-cheng, Deputy Magistrate of Yilan County, stated that future efforts will focus on promoting art education. Yilan Art Museum will become one of the key venues for nurturing children's art education and will serve as an off-campus learning destination for elementary and middle schools.

The inaugural exhibitions at Yilan Art Museum, "Glamour Reimagined — 30 Years of Yilan Art Exhibition" and the Yang Yingfeng Sculpture Exhibition, will be displayed on the first and second floors of the museum from now until February 23 of next year. The "Discovering the Beauty of the Old Town" crafts exhibition on the second floor will run until December 28. The entire museum offers free admission to the public during the trial operation period.
