Korean official brand "King Sejong Institute" launches classes in Taipei, filling up in just one minute

Taiwan’s first-ever Korean cultural experience center—KOREA PLAZA—officially opened in April this year.Future Korean language classes will be held here on a regular basis.

The "King Sejong Institute" was established by the Korean government to meet educational demands arising from the "Korean Wave" and international marriages, serving as the national flagship brand for Korean cultural education. Therefore, Korean language classes across 130 institutes in 54 countries worldwide follow a unified curriculum based on the "International Standard Model for Korean Language Education." Starting in November, you can also learn such standardized Korean courses at KOREA PLAZA in Taipei.

Song Hyang-geun, chairman of the King Sejong Institute Foundation, stated that when the online registration system for the Taipei King Sejong Institute opened at the end of last month, all slots were filled in less than a minute. He believes that language is the key to understanding a country's culture and that these classes offer a great opportunity to learn about Korean culture, whether or not you've been to Korea. Currently, at the Korea Tourism Organization’s KOREA PLAZA, trial classes of the King Sejong Korean Language Beginner 1 (for complete beginners) and Beginner 2 (for those with at least six months of prior study) have been running since November 3. Both courses meet twice a week for 15 weeks, with free tuition and teaching materials. Students who meet attendance requirements by the end of the course will receive a completion certificate.

Li Hsueh-pi, manager of KOREA PLAZA, mentioned that both Beginner 1 and 2 Korean classes are currently fully booked, but new classes are expected to start in February. Interested individuals can keep an eye on the official website for updates.
