Colorful light flows along the bridge – Taichung’s three illuminated overpasses create new nighttime highlights

Taichung is looking more beautiful than ever at night. The Taichung City Construction Bureau has recently transformed three local bridges—Fuan Bridge, New Peach Blossom Land Bridge, and Hope Overpass—into light art bridges. Not only have they improved the original lighting, but they’ve also become new nighttime attractions in the city.

The Construction Bureau stated that these three bridge landscape light art projects use various LED lights combined with programmed designs to create dynamic beauty through the flow of light and shadow. They offer a unique nighttime bridge experience and are arranged with time-segmented performance modes. During late-night hours, apart from essential road lighting, decorative LED lights are reduced to achieve different visual effects while also saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Among them, the “New Peach Blossom Land Bridge,” one of the four scenic bridges in Dakeng, is already an important local landmark. At night, it is adorned with colorful lights that make the peach blossom decorations on the bridge even more vibrant. Fuan Bridge, which boasts high visibility and serves as a key link between the Central Taiwan Science Park and downtown Taichung, features LED landscape light art on the bridge that complements the nearby Hongyang Bridge at night, creating one of the most beautiful nighttime scenes at the city’s entrance.
