Capsule toy fans, take note!* A giant “Huldu Planet” has popped up on the streets of Taipei’s Xinyi District—polar bears, reindeer, and king penguins all sporting big “underbites” to boost the city’s Christmas cuteness factor this year.
Huldu Planet is a character created by Japan’s capsule toy authority, Panda no Ana. The animals living on Huldu Planet look normal at first glance, but their chins are unusually large. The first series sold an incredible 1 million units in Japan. When news broke that the third series, themed around polar animals, would launch in July this year, capsule toy fans went wild.

This Christmas, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi New World specially brought in the latest third series of the wildly popular “Huldu Planet” polar animal collection. They selected three polar animals—the polar bear, reindeer, and king penguin—and scaled up the original 2cm capsule toys into 150cm-tall super-cute giant plush versions. These explosively adorable oversized chins are now up close and personal with the public, attracting crowds for photos and turning into a unique Christmas sight in Taipei.

From December 8 to December 25, premium card members who spend points can also receive limited-edition “Huldu Planet” postcards, where the three adorable polar animals become “Wish Post Office” messengers, spreading festive cheer across Taiwan.
