The Attack on Titan appears strolling through the streets of Tokyo, but… why does it seem much smaller than usual? It turns out this is a “Mini Titan” specially created by the organizers to promote the upcoming “Attack on Titan Exhibition,” which kicks off on the 28th at the Ueno Royal Museum. The mini figure has been parading all over town and can be spotted in locations such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, Akihabara, and the Chuo Campus of Meiji University.

The wildly popular manga “Attack on Titan,” which has surpassed 40 million copies in circulation in Japan alone, has amassed a dedicated global fanbase. Universal Studios Japan will even launch a related themed attraction next year (2015) in January. The “Attack on Titan Exhibition,” opening on the 28th, brings the world of the manga to life—with life-sized 1:1 scale Titans on display and the chance to try out the Omnidirectional Mobility Gear to experience the thrill of battling the Titans. Ever since the exhibition was announced, it has garnered immense attention from fans.

To promote the event, the organizers created a “Mini Titan” that made appearances around Tokyo on the 16th and 24th of this month. It even secretly worked as a shop assistant at the Kanda main store of Sanseido Bookstore and at Animate, though it seemed to scare many customers away from the cashier—eventually, they had to send in the Bear Survey Corps to take it away.
