Pizza is no longer limited to chain stores these days. Over the past few years, whether it’s self-branded options from other cities or local brands in Kaohsiung, the variety of pizzas has become increasingly diverse. Just a street away from the Kaohsiung Public Library, on Xinguang Road, there’s a foreign restaurant that specializes in customizable pizzas and even offers private bookings for group gatherings or parties.

O.P.P stands for Over Powerful Pizza. The chef has worked in Australia and brings extensive experience in international cuisine. In addition to pizza, you can also enjoy pasta, American-style burgers, and more.

The dining area has both first and second floors. The first floor is mainly for regular customers, while the second floor is typically reserved for group events.

The second floor has dart machines and arcade games available for guests, and the photos on the walls are all taken during group gatherings.

Aside from several classic flavors, the pizzeria also offers many creative options. You can even freely choose the sauce and toppings for your pizza.

If you don’t want to think too hard, there are various set meals to choose from, ranging from two-person to four-person sets.

Taiwan Night Market Pizza – NT$280

Judging by sight, the pizza is about 8 inches in size. With a fluffy crust on the edges and a thin center, it seems to follow the Italian Neapolitan style.

The Taiwan Night Market Pizza uses a base similar to three-cup sauce, topped with plenty of sausages and garlic bits, accented with basil for a strong Taiwanese three-cup flavor. As expected, it’s very “Taiwanese.” The outer crust is soft and chewy, with a fermented aroma—it turns out beer is added to the dough instead of yeast, which explains why it gets more flavorful the more you chew.

Around the World Pizza – NT$350
The so-called “Around the World” pizza is a customizable option where you can freely choose the base sauce and meat or vegetable toppings based on your preferences.

For this one, we selected snow crab legs, squid, shrimp, pineapple, onions, tomatoes, garlic, and basil. The base sauce chosen was teriyaki, making for a pretty unique combination. You can definitely taste the large shrimp, and the flavor isn’t as heavy as the Taiwan Night Market Pizza—probably because of the teriyaki sauce. But that’s just right, balancing a bold flavor with a lighter one. Both pizzas were delicious.

Ligurian Herb & Basil Pork Tenderloin Pasta (with Green Garlic) – NT$260
The name’s quite a mouthful—simply put, it’s a green pesto pork tenderloin pasta.

The pasta had a perfect texture—not too hard or soft. The pesto wasn’t overly mild, though the aroma could’ve been a bit stronger. A touch more garlic might have enriched the overall flavor.

Basil Latte Coffee – NT$140 (left), Yuzu Iced Tea – NT$80 (right)
The latte had a slight hint of alcohol and was smooth without being astringent. Even for someone like me who doesn’t usually drink coffee, it went down easily. As for the yuzu iced tea, no introduction is needed—the sweetness was just right.

There are truly countless pizza flavors. This time, trying the Taiwan Night Market flavor was a pleasant surprise, and the ability to customize your own favorite flavor is such a fun concept. Also, the shop occasionally hosts DIY pizza events for families and is often chosen by companies for team bonding. Next time you’re planning a meal or gathering, consider coming here—I highly recommend it.
