Not just Dadaocheng (Dadaocheng Festival)! The 5-minute-20-second waterfront fireworks show at Fisherman’s Wharf kicks off this Sunday

Taipei’s Dadaocheng Valentine’s Day event will feature a spectacular 600-second fireworks display on the 26th, much anticipated by locals and couples alike. Beyond Dadaocheng, the Fleur de Chine Hotel (Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf Branch) in New Taipei City will also join forces with the New Taipei City Government and Fisherman’s Wharf business district (including Waterside Enterprises, World Chocolate Dream Park, Tamsui District Fishermen’s Association, and Chrysanthemum Island BBQ) to hostLove at Fisherman’s Wharfseries of activities, culminating in a dazzling 5-minute-20-second waterfront aerial fireworks show.

The Love at Fisherman’s Wharf series of events will be held on the 27th, starting with a lively market and children’s amusement park at 3 PM. In the evening, there will be folk and theme park music performances, and at 9 PM, a 5-minute-20-second waterfront aerial fireworks show symbolizing “I love you” will be launched. The fireworks are mainly high-altitude displays, featuring 6-inch shells as the largest size, complemented by 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-inch medium and small shells. The design includes fan-shaped golden comet fireworks soaring toward the Milky Way, evoking the imagery of magpies forming a bridge for lovers on Qixi (Chinese Valentine’s Day), along with flashing, smiley face, and heart-shaped fireworks in the sky to enchant couples under Fisherman’s Wharf’s starry night.

The Fleur de Chine Hotel in Tamsui, which enjoys a prime location for fireworks viewing, reported that room bookings for the 27th have exceeded 90%. The hotel is offering special packages, including double sea-view rooms starting from NT$6,999 and a yacht fireworks-viewing package for NT$16,499. There are also limited seats available: 30 spots at the Lover’s Tower fireworks-viewing deck at NT$1,320 per person, and lover’s seats at the fireworks observation platform at NT$769 per person. Organizers remind the public to use public transportation and arrive early to avoid traffic jams and missing out on this annual romantic spectacle.
