Hualien-Taitung Bike Festival Kicks Off – Ride Iron Horses Along Beinan Boulevard & Win Prizes

The Hualien-Taitung Valley National Scenic Area Administration (hereinafter referred to as the Administration) of the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications, hosted the "2014 Cycling Safety Promotion & Bike Festival in Hualien-Taitung" from December 7 to 14, 2014. During this period, eight sessions of slow-paced cycling activities exploring the "Pearls of Hualien-Taitung" were planned, inviting the public to enjoy biking in the Hualien-Taitung Valley.

The eight cycling routes include the Daxiaodafu Bike Path, Longtian Bike Path, Liyu Pond Bike Path, and the popular Beinan Boulevard in Chishang Township, with 100 spots available per session. Participants also have the chance to win prizes such as Giant road bikes and Canon cameras.

The Administration stated that it hopes to encourage travelers to slow down and experience the beauty of Hualien-Taitung up close through cycling. Registration is now open and will remain so until the day before the start of each session. The public is welcome to sign up and join in.
