Tainan Food Festival Hosts Master Challenge with NT$120,000 Grand Prize

The “2014 Tainan Food Festival” is holding the “Tainan Food Masters Challenge,” offering a grand prize of NT$120,000. To date, over 9,000 participants have taken part in the online preliminary round. It is expected that the top 1,500 scorers will advance to the next stage. Preliminary contestants must achieve a minimum score of 75 points (answering at least 15 out of 20 questions correctly) to qualify.

The Tainan Food Festival has specially organized the Food Masters Challenge, where the grand prize winner can take home a generous NT$120,000 bonus. Anyone with knowledge about Tainan’s local culture and cuisine can participate in the online preliminary round of the “Food Masters Challenge” on the event’s official website before December 10 by completing 20 multiple-choice questions. This offers a chance to compete for the substantial cash prize provided by the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau. The preliminary results will be announced on the event website on December 15. Those who advance only need to attend the finals on December 21 to receive an advancement gift pack.

The finals will be held at Ti-san Square (next to the Tainan Museum of Fine Arts), featuring a live cooking demonstration by renowned chef Tsai Jifang, showcasing milkfish dishes. Additionally, nearly 50 well-known Tainan local delicacies and souvenir vendors will hold sales exhibitions during the weekend of December 20–21.
