Trash Mountain Transformed into a World-Class Attraction: Bakai Park Showcases Taiwan to the World

Last updated 2026-09-24 — This park can truly be called a “world-class attraction.” In 2016, it was awarded the top prize in the environmental category by FIABCI, the world’s most authoritative real estate alliance, winning the “Global Excellence in Construction Award” for first place; in 2017, it also claimed the highest honor, the “Comprehensive Excellence Achievement Award,” at the National Excellence in Construction Awards. This remarkable achievement, however, has its roots in what locals used to call the “trash park.”
