A well-known hotel booking website surveyed travelers from 28 countries worldwide on where they most want to spend Christmas. Among Asian travelers, Japan ranked first, Thailand and Malaysia came in second and third respectively, while Taiwan came in sixth, surpassing Germany and France, both of which have strong Christmas atmospheres.

So, which country is at the top of the list for Taiwanese travelers when it comes to a Christmas holiday destination? The survey report shows

Additionally, Hotels.com stated that up to 42.5% of Taiwanese travelers choose to travel during Christmas to experience the festive atmosphere elsewhere, and nearly 30% do so to spend quality time with family during the holiday. Moreover, over half of the Taiwanese respondents surveyed opt for hotels that celebrate Christmas in traditional ways when selecting accommodations.

The survey report also shows that nearly 70% of respondents in the country want to spend Christmas romantically with their partners. However, a small number indicated they would prefer to spend it with a mistress or lover. More interestingly, most Taiwanese travelers, along with global travelers, share the common desire to leave their mothers-in-law behind when going out for Christmas.
