Papa at Sanzhi, a Relaxing Hidden Gem Café on the Northern Coast!

I never expected such a beautiful café in Sanzhi to be right near my home. It’s only about a three-minute drive to this hidden gem café. It’s been open for roughly a year, but I only discovered it last week through someone’s social media share. I immediately booked a table at Papa at Sanzhi—remember to make a reservation first. The owner operates on an appointment-only basis and does not accept walk-ins. Since he’s a one-man operation, limiting the number of guests helps him manage things better. Plus, he wants visitors to feel relaxed here, so he prefers to keep the crowd small.

At Papa at Sanzhi, the owner says the main goal is to encourage everyone to cherish their love for their parents. He said, “I believe everyone should truly love their parents!”
Say “I love you” in the moment. Honor your parents~ Treasure the people we love and those who love us. This place isn’t just pretty—it also makes us feel the owner’s deep love for his parents.

There’s no signboard. But as soon as we drove up, we knew we were at the right place.

It’s super rare for friends to come visit me here. I even drove all the way to Tamsui to pick them up. Because I know how hard it is to take the bus to Sanzhi. The buses are much better now—before, they used to make me super carsick XD

The moment we walked in, we were blown away. What a hidden paradise. The interior is just stunning—the sunlight streams through the gaps in the trees.

We happened to be the first group of guests that day, so the empty-scene photos came out beautifully. I couldn’t stop clicking.

I love this spot so much. That day, the four of us sat here like we were in a meeting—chatting and sipping drinks. It really felt like being at home.

The counter area is charming too. Doesn’t it feel relaxing to sit here with a drink in the afternoon?

When we made the reservation, the owner reminded us that there’s no food served here—so we came after eating. The menu is adorable—it’s handwritten. And the funniest part? None of us four actually took photos of our drinks… we totally forgot to photograph what we ordered haha. We were really just there for the drinks >/////<

I also really like this seat. The lighting is great.

The only downside might be that it gets really hot in the summer. It’s a greenhouse, so it can get quite stuffy. The outdoor seating is cooler. I think it’ll be better after September.

I also love how I came out in this shot!!! It gives off such a love-for-life vibe. These days, I’m enjoying my solo life. I cherish my alone time ‘d? Every day, I have a ten-minute chat with myself.

This photo clearly shows how tanned I am. I want to get even tanner haha. I don’t think it’s even yet. I’m also curious to see just how tan I can get.

As mentioned earlier, the owner wants to share his love for his parents with everyone. He encourages people to say “I love you” in the moment. So he’s prepared postcards you can write to your loved ones. I really like this concept.

And the owner loves sharing with others. I saw lots of guests chatting and listening to him.

Actually, around 3 PM, the outdoor seating is cooler than indoors.

It feels like a family photo. I love this vibe.

Is today a side-part gathering? I only realized looking at the photos haha. I usually wear my hair in a twin-tail style. What a coincidence.

Just seeing all the greenery is relaxing. Although it’s super photogenic here, I think what people love most is the atmosphere. It’s so laid-back and comfortable.

Before we knew it, we stayed until 5 PM. The sunset on the northern coast is the most beautiful. I’ve seen it almost every day, so I’m almost numb to it. But every now and then, it still moves me to tears.

And now I’m sharing this cozy hidden gem of a café with you all! Even though more and more people are finding out about it, I hope it still gives off that same relaxing and comfy vibe the next time you visit Up!
