The UK’s Daily Telegraph recently announced the “World’s 10 Weirdest Food Museums”, featuring items you might never have even imagined. Surprisingly, Taiwan also made the list—can you guess which museum it is? No… not the National Palace Museum, nor the Chi Mei Museum, but… first, take a look at some of the world’s quirkiest museums, and soon you’ll spot the “Taiwanese pride” in the museum world below.

1. World Carrot Museum, online virtual
This is a virtual museum founded by a nearly obsessed British carrot enthusiast, dedicated to collecting information on the history, recipes, health benefits, cultivation methods, games, nutritional value, and folklore of carrots.

2. Spreewald Pickle Museum, Germany
If you love pickles in your burger, then this museum in the Spreewald region may be worth a visit—it’s an area famous for pickle production.

3. Mushroom Museum, France
Here you can learn about how to cultivate mushrooms in caves as well as cooking techniques.

4. Pig Museum, Germany
This museum was formerly a slaughterhouse, and part of its collection is dedicated to various forms of “pig” art and culture. It’s said to be the world’s largest pig museum.

This place has the largest collection of mustard-related memorabilia and souvenirs.

6. Potato Museum, Bruges, Belgium

7. Black Bridge Sausage Museum, Taiwan
This small space showcases products related to Hei Qiao Pai, and there’s also an entire wall dedicated to “sausages from around the world.” If that’s not enough, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington houses the sausages that astronauts ate during the Apollo space missions.

Founded by two renowned Hungarian almond candy makers, this museum isn’t lacking in creativity — they can craft figures ranging from Disney characters to Michael Jackson.

During World War II, Spam was a staple food for soldiers. In 1932, Hormel Foods in Minnesota invented the 12-ounce canned version of Spam. To help more people learn about and appreciate this product, Hormel opened the “SPAM Museum.”
