Sleep with an octopus！Stay at an underwater hotel to admire the marine world

Are you prone to seasickness on glass-bottom boats? Do you dream of a colorful underwater world but can’t swim? These problems now have a solution！According tothe UK’s Daily Mail, the “Manta Underwater Hotel,” located in the Indian Ocean between Tanzania and Zanzibar, has over half of its structure submerged more than 4 meters below sea level. Spending a night here allows you to enjoy being surrounded by fish.

The Manta Underwater Hotel is located on Pemba Island in East Africa. Its pristine and unpolluted ecosystem has been designated as an East African marine bird sanctuary, with a population of just 300,000. Despite its white coral reefs and crystal-clear waters, tourism is not well-developed.

To reach this hotel, you must first take a boat. Dubbed a “three-story” establishment, it includes a balcony, dining area, and underwater rooms: guests can sunbathe on the balcony or stargaze as night falls. The middle-level dining area is for meals as well as relaxation and sunset viewing. The lowest-level rooms require climbing down a ladder, where guests can lie on soft beds and gaze at coral reefs through the glass walls, as well as watch squids and octopuses swimming by.

Wanting to live a utopian life like Tao Yuanming doesn’t come cheap—the underwater hotel costs around NT$50,000 per night. Currently, underwater hotels that bring you closer to nature are becoming increasingly popular, with places like Dubai and the Maldives also following suit.
