At the end of this year (2014), China Airlines launched a new ad campaign, this time enlisting Cloud Gate Dance Theatre founder Lin Hwai-min as the spokesperson. Centered around the concept of a cabin that resembles a bookstore, China Airlines' Boeing 777-300ER features Lin Hwai-min reading books and sipping tea on board. The ad incorporates a hidden line from Wang Wei’s poetry — "Sitting and watching the clouds rise" — to depict the sensation of soaring above the clouds. "I’ve found a place on the plane where I can think and rest." In this 40-second promotional video, Lin Hwai-min centers the narrative on his own feelings, ultimately pointing out, "China Airlines has changed." The ad subtly yet exquisitely portrays the experience of flying, leaving a deep impression.

In addition to China Airlines’ ad, EVA Air enlisted Takeshi Kaneshiro in June to film the “I SEE YOU” commercial, centered around the theme "Your vision can move the world." The ad highlights breathtaking global landscapes, with Kaneshiro traveling to various world-famous sites and embracing an international perspective before returning to Taiwan to reflect on both global and local viewpoints. These two airline ads, featuring the mature charm of Takeshi Kaneshiro and the artistic depth of master Lin Hwai-min, each offer unique interpretations of the travel experience. Though their starting points differ, both deliver impressive results.
