Boasting the title of Taiwan’s first arts and culture-themed hotel, “Eslite Hotel” features a lobby library with 5,000 books

Eslite is synonymous with urban arts and culture in Taipei, and the much-anticipated “first arts and culture hotel in Taiwan”—Eslite Hotel Taipei—began its trial operation yesterday (the 15th). The most eye-catching feature of Eslite Hotel Taipei is undoubtedly the 5,000 books in its lobby, all collected as the “last available copy” of bestsellers retained by Eslite Bookstore.

Adjacent to the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Eslite Hotel offers room types including Elegant Rooms, Classic Rooms, Executive Suites, and Humanities Suites, totaling 104 rooms and 3 on-site restaurants. The hotel design carries on the Eslite concept, blending a strong “scholarly atmosphere” with “Taiwanese flavor.” Many rooms feature early Taiwanese vintage elements. According to current official website prices, rooms start at NT$14,500 per night, while New Year’s Eve stays begin at NT$31,800.

Eslite Hotel was completed earlier this year but faced delays in its opening date due to issues such as business license approvals. It is now open for trial operation until February 28, 2015. As for the official opening date, Eslite Hotel’s public relations department stated that no exact date has been confirmed yet.
