A national treasure-level train experience, concerts, and sunrise viewing—Alishan series of events welcome the New Year

The 13th annual Alishan Sunrise Impression Concert officially launched its series of events today (18th), inviting the public to visit Alishan during the New Year's Eve period to greet the first light of the new year amid music.

This year’s Alishan Sunrise Impression Concert takes“Hope, Sunrise, Sunshine”as its three-movement theme. Through the format of a highland concert, it brings together domestic, international, and local performance troupes, including the renowned Huagang Symphony Orchestra, the vocals of the acclaimed singer Xu Jingchun, well-known instrumental musicians Cai Xingguo and Zhang Zhongli, the foreign highland band Native American Indian Band, as well as local choirs and dance troupes, showcasing a blend of “globalization” and “localization.” The organizers also remind those planning to head up the mountain to preferably go in groups for mutual support. With the cold mountain weather, it is essential to take adequate cold-weather precautions. Additionally, due to heavy mountain dew, wear non-slip shoes to ensure personal safety.

In addition, to celebrate the 102nd anniversary of the Alishan Forest Railway,on Thursday, December 25, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, five round-trip steam locomotive services will run between Beimen and Chiayi stations, each pulling four cypress passenger cars, allowing the public to enjoy riding a national treasure-level train (limited to 200 passengers per train).
