Japanese mascots appear at Taipei Fubon Marathon, showing hilarious running poses

The Taipei Fubon Marathon, with over 42,000 participants registered, started this (21st) morning at Taipei Civic Square. Alongside athletes vying for the NT$2 million prize, mascots from across Japan also took part. Responding to the starting gun, they ran with cute and amusing actions, attracting many spectators who couldn’t help but stop and take photos with them during the event.


▲ Characters like Tokugawa Ieyasu (家康君), Mount Fuji, and Chiba-kun appeared at the marathon venue, drawing crowds eager for photos.

The Taipei Fubon Marathon kicked off with special guests: mascots from various regions of Japan who made the trip to participate. Among them were Ieyasu-kun and Momotaro’s Satsuki from Shizuoka, Mount Fuji, as well as Chiba-kun, who is bright red all over, representing Chiba Prefecture. There were also teams featuring Okayama’s white peaches and Aomori apples. These various mascots formed their own teams, joining the race and starting alongside the public, adding fun and laughter throughout the marathon route.
