Blue seas and white houses — Kenting also has a dreamy Little Greece

If I had to choose the most perfect place in Taiwan to just do nothing and relax... I think my heart has long fallen for 'Kenting'～ Maybe it holds many stories for me. As someone who loves the sea, I fell in love with this place from my very first visit during university, and whenever I miss the ocean, it’s the first thing that comes to mind. I even once had this dream of opening a homestay in Kenting, waking up every day under the big sun... But I know all too well that in an area packed with so many homestays, such a thought is really just a daydream. Maybe opening a unique restaurant wouldn’t be a bad idea XD

I can’t remember exactly when I first fell for 'Haijing', but I clearly remember that simple white look, and that one-of-a-kind hidden gem known as 'Kenting’s Little Greece'. I deeply felt that staying here was like a vacation away from the city. Maybe the food was ready... you could truly just stay put, doing absolutely nothing and feeling completely at ease. This time, I finally made it here, and even as I sorted through the photos, I found myself missing it already... Missing that endless blue sea, missing that quiet, comforting sunlight and breeze. Let me divide 'Haijing' into two parts then, and slowly appreciate the happiness that is uniquely its own...

Haijing Outdoor, Animals, Little Greece Chapter:

Driving to Haijing, you head in the direction of Hongchaikeng. Along the way, you’ll see signs. The winding path inside isn’t short, but that length truly makes you realize you’ve arrived at a secret paradise cut off from the rest of the world.

Arriving at 'Haijing', you’ll never forget that vast expanse... If there's one thing that stands out the most on this land, it would probably be the two main buildings. But compared to the entire area, they might be no more than a leaf on a tree — insignificant. And precisely because of this, what you see here feels incredibly expansive and limitless. Looking up, the only thing before you is that all-white wall, adorned with irregular windows that seem to tell their own stories about 'Haijing'.

When you wake up in the morning and step outside, you might even see cows strolling around the house... The homestay owner says the dogs and cows here roam freely. The bigger ones might be confined by fences they can't cross, but the smaller ones go everywhere. First thing in the morning, one stared right at me... It actually made me a bit embarrassed XD (Luckily, it didn’t charge straight at me～

On Haijing’s vast grounds, all rooms are 'ocean-view rooms'. One side offers a view of the sea, while stepping outside the other side reveals mountain scenery and even Hengchun. You can even catch the sunrise here in the morning. It’s as if the whole world lies at your feet, and you can choose to do absolutely nothing — just face the mountains or the sea... and daydream to your heart’s content.

Here, you’ll often spot the store crew... a group of adorable dachshunds running around. They’re really quite entertaining. If a cow strays too far, they’ll all run over and bark at it, chasing it away XD. If you’ve been to 'Haijing', you’ll definitely remember them.

When you were a child, you always hoped to grow up quickly, earn money, break free from restrictions and have freedom... But now that we’ve suddenly stepped into society, we realize that the fast pace and busyness often leave no time to even think about 'hope'... It seems being a child was easier, with more room for imagination.

Perhaps these responsibilities and the fast pace are inevitable, but there are always moments that let you pause, catch your breath, and reflect... You have to ask yourself what you want and what you don’t want... and whether you can remain indifferent to the things you don’t. In such a vast place, I found myself thinking...

In the daytime or evening, 'Haijing' also has another enchanting feature — a secret base that has captivated many online: 'Little Greece'～ I’m one of those who’s fallen for this 'Little Greece'

From the location of the 'Haijing' homestay, walk slowly to the exclusive viewing platform... Gazing out toward the sea from here will deeply move you. The blue of this sea is heart-stirring, sparking thoughts of returning here year after year... The 'Little Greece' beneath your feet is likely the Shanhai Fishing Harbor. It’s not a bustling tourist spot in Kenting, but it’s genuinely a small fishing village where locals live.

Nestled here, 'Haijing' feels like you've left the city and reached the edge of the sea... With mountains and trees behind, wrapped in undisturbed nature, and the sea and fishing village in front — the ever-changing light and shadows of the sea across seasons, days, and sunsets.

So many scenes linger here — a sea that pours out blue, surrounded by white and beige houses, some in other soft hues, mostly about three stories high. The distant seawater almost makes this place feel like 'Kenting’s Little Greece', a romantic and beautiful name. And I’m enchanted by it — that vast-hearted openness facing the sea, belonging to all the sea’s children.

Don’t just come for the daytime. 'Haijing' is perfect for spending the whole day here... seeing it in the early morning, watching it at dusk; feeling the morning breeze, searching for the starry skies at night.

Recently on Facebook, there’s a black-and-white photo challenge. Ever since I arrived in Kenting, I switched to 'monochrome mode', which reminded me of how much I once loved black-and-white, vintage-style photography. Actually, many landscapes aren’t just what others capture in their frames — you can have your own perspective on the world, your own attitude.


Haijing Rooms and Breakfast Chapter:

Looking out from the house at 'Haijing', this time we stayed in a 'Double Room A'... It might be the smallest among the double rooms, but we deeply felt it was even more spacious than many other homestays. Especially that huge balcony, where we spent a lot of time simply standing and gazing at the blue sea...

This season in Kenting is truly charming... fewer cars mean less crowding, and instead a uniquely leisurely pace and warmth. Like lying on the lounge chair on the balcony, with the breeze gently brushing by — not hot at all, but comfortably warm, making you feel like you could just fall asleep... And as I looked at the sea, a thought suddenly struck me: in the end, travel is really just about finding simpler and simpler sceneries.

I love this... I love that spot on the lounge chair overlooking the sea, I love lying on the big bed, looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the blue sea. Whether it’s early in the morning or when sunlight streams in, I often find myself immersed in these spots... unwilling to leave for a long time.

The extra-thick, extra-high spring mattress seems to be an independent pocket coil type... Once you lie down at night, you’ll sleep through till dawn. Even when the morning sun shines in, you still won’t want to get up...

Right next to it is the bathtub with a sea view, along with a shower facility... In this open space, there’s actually a clever little design that allows you to shower without being seen. XD (There’s a white privacy curtain — otherwise it’d be a bit embarrassing～

A bathtub facing the sea, perfect for soaking in a warm bath in winter... I really love how 'Haijing' uses so much white, giving the interior an atmosphere you can’t help but adore.

There’s a hint of a tropical vibe, a sense of total freedom... Vacationing here really makes you feel like you’re not rushing through a schedule, but simply wanting to ‘vacation’ here... Let the sun rise and set as it pleases, play some music, especially the deeply nostalgic ‘Wang Ruolin’, and recall memories from 'In Love with Kenting'... In Love with Kenting.

There are lots of thoughtful details in the room — a pair of colorful flip-flops each, a safe, a fridge with instant noodles for late-night hunger... plus a dedicated seat that doubles as a vanity or desk. They’ve thought of everything～

When you’re in a house you truly love, you start appreciating every angle of it... a single chair in the room, a beam of sunlight streaming through the window...
It’s as if this house is alive. Its wings flutter vividly... flying straight into your heart.

Piecing together four frames of scenery, what’s assembled isn’t just the images within the frames... but also a sense of boundless imagination that gently unfolds.

Both daytime and evening scenes—I captured them all, the various lights and figures of that ‘Seascape.’ Because I didn’t want to miss any of its beauty. This is the romantic and secluded ‘Seascape,’ located at the edge of Kenting’s sea.

Good morning！ Let’s go have breakfast in that exclusive dining room～ Just sit by the window and enjoy breakfast while looking out at the sea. Though large curtains in this glass house block out the heat, they can’t block the romance of being next to the ocean.

The hosts greeted us warmly, and each of us was served a Western-style breakfast. Meanwhile, the soy milk, juices on the table, and the fresh milk in the fridge were all freely available！ And when they ran out... they were immediately refilled.

One portion per person—an effortless, comforting, and thoughtful sense of happiness... served right at the table, at this place by the sea, I truly felt so blessed！ Enjoying life... really, it’s just as simple as this～

I took over a hundred photos at ‘Seascape’... taking my time to capture the scenery here, as if every angle carried a vacation-like vibe. As I prepared to write this account, I looked through the photos one by one, and that strong feeling of wanting to stay there washed over me again. Maybe I can’t return every time, but I believe that one day, I’ll definitely come back！
