You don’t need to spend a fortune to visit Seoul — you can still stay in Dongdaemun, a great area for shopping and strolling.

If you love SHOPPING or are part of the Dongdaemun wholesale reselling crowd, our entertainment reporter recommends staying at the youth hostel Khostel 6th, located near Dongmyo Station. Plus, it’s just a 2-minute walk to the bus stop for Airport Limousine Bus 6002, which goes to Incheon Airport. <查房价>

As soon as you step through the entrance of Khostel, just press the code lock and you can come and go freely, even late at night when there’s no front desk. The only downside I found was the lack of an elevator, but fortunately, there’s a ramp next to the stairs, so you can half-drag, half-roll your suitcase up and down.

The sixth branch of K Hostel is right on Jongno!!! 
It’s about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Dongmyo Station. The Korean beef specialty shop downstairs is super delicious—first-grade Korean beef is just around 80,000 KRW (about 2,400 TWD) for 400g, which is much cheaper than places like Myeongdong and Gangnam. If you’re up for some BBQ, you can enjoy it just downstairs after checking in. Up!!! The second floor houses KOHSTEL’s front desk and a cozy little lounge. Towels and hot/cold drinking water are also available on this floor. You can also leave your luggage here after check-out.

The room I stayed in this time was a triple room. It may look simple, but it’s actually quite cozy. In October, you don’t even need to turn on the heater—the room is pretty warm.

If you want to save on travel expenses while still enjoying great transportation access, consider staying at KHOSTEL 6th!!!
