Walk on Waves 20 Meters Above Ground! Busan’s New Landmark “Cheongsapo Stepping Stone Observatory” Opens

Busan, South Korea has a new attraction to offer. The brand-new observatory “Cheongsapo Stepping Stone Observatory” has officially opened to the public. Shaped like a flowing blue line extending toward the sea, the observatory also features a section with a glass walkway that lets visitors enjoy the sensation of walking on waves 20 meters above ground, making it a must-visit new spot in Busan.

As a port city, Busan boasts many famous sea-view spots, and Cheongsapo is a quaint little fishing village with a rustic charm. Gaining popularity in Taiwan after being recommended by popular Korean actor Gong Yoo in 2017, the hometown star shared that he used to come here as a child to eat sashimi and look at the sea. It was also where he had his first taste of sashimi—making it one of his personal favorite hidden gems. This drew many fans to visit and pay homage.

The newly built “Cheongsapo Stepping Stone Observatory” has become the latest seascape destination in the area. From an aerial view, it resembles a winding blue ribbon reaching out into the sea. At the base of the observatory, visitors are greeted by a vast expanse of endless blue ocean, offering a refreshing breeze that instantly lifts the mood. In the evening, the observatory lights up beautifully with rainbow-hued illumination, becoming a romantic spot for dates and sightseeing.
