"Universal Studios Japan" ticket prices to rise again at the end of January — one ticket will cost 2,000 yuan

It’s going to cost more in the future to enter Universal Studios Japan for fun. The annual destination attracting over a million visitors has now announced that from the 30th, ticket prices will increase, marking the second price hike since January 2014.

Universal Studios Japan stated that from the 30th, the one-day adult ticket will be raised from the original price of 6,980 yen to 7,200 yen (about NT$1,930); the child ticket for children aged 4–11 will go up to 4,980 yen; the senior ticket for those aged 65 and above will also increase to 6,470 yen (all prices include tax).

The park authorities said that the increased revenue will be used to add new attractions and carry out renovations. Starting from January 23, Universal Studios Japan will also launch a limited-time themed area called “Universal Cool Japan,” featuring four major popular anime franchises: “Attack on Titan,” “Monster Hunter,” “Neon Genesis Evangelion,” and “Resident Evil.” It is expected to spark a pilgrimage boom among anime fans.
