The Wulai Half Marathon to Kick Off in 10 Days — Traffic Control to Be Implemented in Surrounding Areas

In recent years, Taiwan has seen a surge in running events. This year, the New Taipei City Government is hosting the “Wulai Canyon Super Half Marathon” for the first time, combining travel and sports. Participants can immerse themselves in nature while jogging and enjoying the scenic views along the route. After the race, they can also explore the area’s major tourist attractions, creating a new style of holiday-style travel and jogging experience.

In response to the event starting at 7:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, traffic control will be implemented from 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM at several control points around the Wulai Multi-Level Parking Lot, including the Wulai Bus Terminal, Wulai Street, Wulai Sightseeing Bridge, and Lovers’ Trail.

Key traffic control details are as follows:
1. From 5:00 AM to 7:30 AM on January 10, passengers wishing to take Xindian Bus at the Wulai Bus Terminal should instead board or alight at the Wulai Sightseeing Bridge Stop. Normal bus service at the terminal will resume after 7:30 AM.

2. From 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM, two-way vehicle traffic will be prohibited on the Wulai Sightseeing Bridge to Laka Intersection (roads around the multi-level parking lot). From 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM, two-way traffic will be allowed on Wulai Old Street. Vehicles heading toward Xiaoyi should take the Sightseeing Bridge, then follow the Huanshan Road to Wulai Street and turn onto Laka Road.

3. From 6:50 AM to 7:30 AM on the day of the event, the Wulai Sightseeing Bridge will be under two-way traffic control, with all cars and motorcycles prohibited.

4. From 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the day of the event, the Lovers’ Trail will be closed to cars and motorcycles.
