Taiwan’s “Smart Tourism Ticket Card” to Debut This Summer – Naming Campaign Includes Grand Prize Draw

The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications is hosting the “Smart Tourism Woohoo!” ticket card naming and voting campaign, inviting everyone to help name the smart tourism ticket card set to launch this summer. Participants who vote before January 16 have a chance to win a RIMOWA suitcase, an iPad mini 2, accommodation vouchers from multiple hotels, and afternoon tea coupons, making your travels easy and joyful.

Currently, major urban areas around the world have issued smart tourism passes that combine transportation and travel discounts, such as Copenhagen Card in Europe, New York City Pass in the United States, Seoul City Pass Plus in South Korea, Osaka Amazing Pass and KANSAI THRU PASS in Japan. Taiwan is also set to launch one this year.

“Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep~” Dancing with the “Dancing Uncle” and Oh Bear together – one card, endless city fun. The Tourism Bureau plans to select two winning counties/cities in March this year, with the card to be launched during the summer. It aims to integrate existing transportation options with related food, accommodation, tours, and shopping discounts via an electronic ticket card, along with guidebooks and recommended itineraries, allowing travelers to easily explore Taiwan’s distinctive cities within a certain time frame and area.

The public is invited to co-create a name for this ticket card. So far, 370 different names have been submitted. Before January 16, everyone is welcome tovisit the campaign websiteto vote and look forward to a better travel experience in Taiwan’s future.
