Stock market expert Zheng Rui-zong shared on Facebook on the 3rd that he ran into Hon Hai chairman Terry Gou at “Beitou Jin Chunfa,” making this century-old beef noodle shop in Beitou an overnight sensation. In fact, apart from Jin Chunfa, there are three other delicious beef noodle shops in Beitou: Su Jia, Wu Jia, and Zhi Ming.

Jin Chunfa Beef Noodles
Established in 1897, Jin Chunfa Beef Noodles has a history of 120 years. This century-old shop is most famous for its signature “Original Flavor Beef Noodles” in clear broth. Though the soup looks light and simple, its taste is incredibly rich and delightful, truly a treat for the taste buds. In addition to beef noodles, the menu also includes stir-fried beef, stir-fried beef tripe, beef offal, beef soup, and more, all priced around NT$120.

Zhi Ming Beef Noodles (Beitou Main Store)
This beef noodle shop ranked third in the 2010 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival. Interestingly, it’s right next door to another popular beef noodle spot—Wu Jia Beef Noodles. Zhi Ming features a long, narrow, semi-open-air layout, which sets it apart from typical beef noodle joints. Their beef noodles come in two styles: clear-braised and red-braised, and there are also several types of noodles and rice dishes to choose from.

Wu Jia Beef Noodles
Although Wu Jia Beef Noodles is located on the main road of Section 1, Zhongyang North Road in Beitou—some distance from Beitou Park—it’s open from 2 pm to midnight, making it a great choice for a post-work dinner or late-night snack. Aside from its signature beef noodles, the shop also offers plain noodles, shredded pork with pickled mustard greens noodles, and dumplings.

Su Jia Beef Noodles (Main Store)
With three branches in the Beitou area, this is a highly recommended beef noodle spot among locals, and its deliciousness is on par with the Jin Chunfa frequented by Chairman Guo. Like other beef noodle shops in Beitou, besides beef noodles, it also serves various other noodle and rice dishes.
