60 Japanese universities blatantly "sell credits" — just 30 yuan per credit?

Japanese universities are now riding a wave of "credit selling," where not only can you get a credit for just 30 yuan, but it has also become a limited-time "souvenir" that many college students are crazy about buying.

It all started when the student support organization (Seikyō, or student co-op) at Chiba University frequently received messages in their feedback forms such as: "We really wish Seikyō would sell credits!" — prompting them to think about how to make this a reality.Finally, in early January, they launched butter bread with the word "credit" printed on it, with each credit bread costing just 108 yen (approximately 30 New Taiwan dollars). It is now being sold at over 60 universities across the Kanto region and has received widespread praise.

Interestingly, besides the "credit bread," the receipt also prints the words "Credit 108 yen," creating a uniquely amusing sight. While you can't actually buy real credits, getting a credit bread for the fun of it is still an entertaining experience.

The "credit bread" is currently on sale from now until the 23rd, with no plans for an extension for the time being. In the future, they may also consider allowing students to order via comments or distributing them through partner stores.
