Lin Ming-yung, Chairman of China Airlines, revealed to the media today that in 2015, China Airlines will increase flight frequencies on existing routes. In addition to confirming additional flights to Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, regions such as Kyushu and Shikoku are also under consideration. As its low-cost airline, V Air, becomes more established, the company does not rule out jointly operating the same routes with V Air in the future, allowing consumers to choose based on market segmentation.

Lin Ming-yung stated that starting from September this year, China Airlines will add two new A330 aircraft, and by the end of the year, V Air’s fleet will also expand to 4–5 aircraft. Therefore, in addition to increasing flight frequencies at existing popular tourist destinations, countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines will also be included in the development plan. V Air will also launch its third new destination in April and will seek to expand regional destinations within a four-hour flight radius in the future. During this year’s Lunar New Year holiday, China Airlines also added extra flights to Shanghai, Wuxi, and Hangzhou. Lin Ming-yung estimates that China Airlines could achieve 15%–20% growth in 2015.
