Read in a homestay—the Shuijinjiu Reading Travel trend is heating up

New Taipei City Public Library stated that the Ruifang Branch has specially partnered with six homestays in Shuijinjiu to deliver books to these accommodations, creating a traveling library that allows visitors to enjoy leisurely reading time during their trips.

This year features multiple long holiday periods, including the upcoming Lunar New Year, as well as Peace Memorial Day (Feb. 28), Children’s Day, Tomb Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and National Day—all offering “mini-happy getaways” of three days or more, making them perfect for planning a light domestic trip.

New Taipei City Public Library has specially created a traveling library, delivering books to homestays to offer free reading opportunities for visitors. This initiative allows people to not only fully enjoy the local natural and cultural scenery while on vacation but also to slow down, read quietly, recharge through reading, and soothe their minds. Book lovers no longer need to carry heavy luggage full of books. As part of the “Books Delivered to Homestays” program, the first wave partners with six homestays in the Shuijinjiu area: “Slow Homestay,” “Our Homestay 187,” “Wangyou Valley Homestay,” “Cloud Mountain Water Homestay,” “Bafankengkou Homestay,” and “Jinshan Art Station,” aiming to provide visitors with another delightful way to experience travel.
