Paradise for bamboo lovers: Chiayi’s “Bamboo Trace Museum” opens, stunning visitors with natural bamboo products

The Forestry Bureau collaborated with the Industrial Technology Research Institute to establish the Taiwan Bamboo Creative Living“Bamboo Trace Museum”at the “Hinoki Forest Life Village” under the Chiayi Forest District Office. It opened on January 10, 2015 (104 in Taiwan’s calendar), with the exhibition themed “The Joy of Bamboo,” featuring exquisitely crafted Taiwanese bamboo products. The exhibition rotates every three months with different themes such as “Bamboo Home” and “Bamboo Journey,” continuing through the end of 2015.

The “Bamboo Trace Museum” focuses on domestic bamboo materials and full utilization of bamboo. Through a storytelling approach, it showcases the development history of Taiwan’s bamboo industry and achievements in research and technology, while also developing eco-friendly products such as non-toxic insect repellents, cat litter, skincare items, and unique bamboo musical instruments as cultural and creative products. It also provides a platform for product exhibitions and technology transfer discussions, aiming to form a new industrial chain from local raw material supply and corporate product manufacturing to market marketing. This initiative seeks to revitalize Taiwan’s bamboo industry and revive the charm of Taiwanese bamboo.
