Maintaining Service Quality: HONEY PIG Shortens Business Hours

Remember the American-style Korean BBQ restaurant HONEY PIG, which we previously reported as being open 24 hours a day? Since its opening, the queue of customers has never stopped, and the enthusiasm of guests has exceeded the expectations of the management. However, this has also put an excessive burden on the restaurant’s staff.To maintain service quality, HONEY PIG announced that from January 17 to January 31, its business hours will be shortened to 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM, with plans to resume 24-hour service on February 2.

Due to the continuous queues, HONEY PIG previously experienced issues with ingredient shortages. The restaurant urgently arranged for additional supplies to be shipped from Korea. Coupled with the non-stop flow of late-night diners, the already stretched waitstaff faced even greater pressure. HONEY PIG’s public relations representative Miki stated that many staff members were finding it overwhelming. After internal discussions, the company decided to adjust business hours, review all service procedures, and strengthen staff training. From January 17 to January 31, business hours will be adjusted to 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM, and 24-hour service will resume after 12:00 PM on February 2.

Since the wait time at the venue often exceeds two hours, HONEY PIG is also considering ways to make the waiting experience better for customers. Miki said the company has discussed implementing a numbering system, but no final decision has been made yet. Any new updates will be announced.

Honey Pig Korean BBQ restaurant originates from the United States. It was founded in 2008 by Korean-American Micky in Annandale, Virginia, on the East Coast of the U.S. Initially, it was created to provide Korean-Americans with a family-friendly Korean BBQ dining experience and to bring people together through food. The restaurant now has five branches in the U.S. East Coast, and its 24-hour operation is its most distinctive feature. Even after expanding to Taiwan, it maintained its “24-hour” non-stop service, making it the first 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant in the Greater Taipei area.
