I’ve been to so many Korean beef BBQ restaurants, but I swear!!! The Korean beef 1++ I’m introducing today was the first time in ten trips to Seoul that food vlogger Guo Renrong and I had ever tasted something so deliciously juicy and exactly to our taste ^^ So if you’re planning a trip to Seoul, be sure to MARK this page and order exactly what I recommend—because you’ll truly regret it if you don’t!!!

Let’s take a look at this restaurant’s menu first!! Everyone always asks me what 1++ means, so let me briefly explain: Korean beef is graded into five levels: third grade, second grade, first grade, 1+, and 1++. Third grade is usually not sold in restaurants for dining, most restaurants use second grade, better ones use first grade, and even higher than first grade is 1+ and 1++. Everything I ordered today was the legendary highest-grade 1++, kind of like getting an A++ on an exam back in the day!!

Like most Korean BBQ restaurants, this one uses charcoal grilling with an overhead exhaust system, and the side dishes are always generous!!! The owner is a Taiwanese woman who studied in the U.S. and previously worked as an office worker—at Avon Cosmetics, a Taiwanese company, no less!! She combines the best of Eastern and Western styles to refine Korean barbecue. First up, I have to recommend the raw Korean beef rolls—they’re completely free of fishy smell, and paired with a specially made Korean spicy sauce, they’re seriously appetizing!!

Here comes the 1++ grade Korean beef ribeye steak!!! Can you see how evenly the marbling is distributed~

The owner will grill it for us and then slice it into bite-sized pieces—you can wrap it in lettuce or enjoy it as is!!! I can only say the tenderness of this Korean beef rivals that of Kobe wagyu.
But the price is much more affordable than Kobe wagyu!! What pairs well with 1++ grade Korean beef? Makgeolli rice wine is a great choice!! Let’s all say "Yuhaiyo" (which means cheers for~~)

After the grilled meat, switch to something lighter—the Korean beef sushi is coming up~~~ Perilla leaves wrapped around vinegar rice, topped with a slice of 1++ Korean beef—it’s a truly unprecedented and novel combination, nothing like the sushi you’d get in Japan!!

Wait—did I see that right? Korean beef can also be made into nigiri sushi?!

Even more eye-catching is how the owner takes out a blowtorch and demonstrates tableside torching!! Wow wow wow!! When the beef is seared to medium-rare and paired with vinegar rice in one bite, you can taste the sweetest, melt-in-your-mouth texture of the Korean beef!!

Next up is the Korean beef steak course—first, the owner marinates the meat with Western spices (like rosemary and other herbs) before placing it directly on the charcoal. It’s grilled from raw to the doneness the customer wants. This really tests skill, because most steakhouses first sear then grill, browning both sides to lock in the juices, which makes it more flavorful. But the 1++ Korean beef here is grilled directly from raw on the charcoal—that takes even more technique and experience!!

I can only say that after you’ve tried this Korean beef, it’s hard to find any other place that can compare. Even the famous Korean blogger “Kim Laofuren” (Golden Lady Buddha) raved after trying it: “I grew up in Korea, and in thirty years, I’ve never had Korean beef this delicious!!!” You’ll understand just how amazing this place is—not just some exaggeration from your friendly travel vlogger!!
