Can waterweed turn into paper? The Taipei Zoo's Wetland Day event kicks off on February 1st.

February 2nd of each year is United Nations World Wetlands Day, which raises public awareness about wetlands through different themes annually. To celebrate the 2015 UN World Wetlands Day, Taipei Zoo is hosting a “Wetlands and Our Future” event from 10:00 to 16:00 on February 1st at its wetland ecological park.
According to Taipei Zoo, this event will be held twice on February 1st — once at 10:00 in the morning and once at 13:30 in the afternoon. No prior registration is required, and it will take place at the zoo’s aquatic plant garden. The activities includean introduction to the habitat of the Taipei frog and various aquatic plants, as well as the removal of excessive waterweed to make aquatic plant paper and bird feed.The public is welcome to come and experience the wetland ecosystem.
