Ichiran Ramen Instant Noodles Go on Sale at Stores on 9/14 – 5-Pack Set Priced at NT$750

Ichiran Ramen’s highly popular souvenir item, “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Spicy Powder,” will go on sale at the Taipei flagship store on September 14. This addition joins the original Ichiran Ramen Hakata-style straight noodles in the souvenir section. The 5-pack set of “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Spicy Powder” is priced at NT$750.

The “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Spicy Powder” product being sold in Taipei this time is a new item launched in Japan in July and is available nationwide in Japan. Unlike the previously Fukuoka-limited product, which came with a concentrated soup powder with a slightly stronger flavor, the version sold across Japan and in Taipei includes a liquid soup base packet.

The noodles in “Ichiran Ramen with Ichiran’s Special Red Secret Spicy Powder” look somewhat similar to instant noodles, but they cannot be soaked—they must be boiled in boiling water for 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 3 minutes and 30 seconds. After that, the soup base packet is added, and finally, the red secret spicy powder can be added according to personal preference. Compared to the Japanese official website price of ¥2,000 JPY for a 5-pack set (current exchange rate 0.279, approximately NT$560), the Taiwan selling price is nearly NT$200 more. Ichiran Ramen explained that this includes the costs of importation and related tariffs.
