More Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Buses on Holidays — Just a 15-Minute Wait to Release Sky Lanterns in Pingxi

To ease the crowds during the free admission to Shifen Waterfall and the sky lantern activities during the Lunar New Year, the New Taipei City Government has coordinated with Taipei Bus’ Route 795 “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Muzha Pingxi Line” to increase the number of trips from 32 to 49 between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM on weekends and holidays. The interval between buses has been reduced from 20–40 minutes to just 15 minutes, shortening wait times for travelers.

The New Taipei City Government stated that this trial of increased holiday service frequency will last for three months. Additionally, extra buses will be dispatched flexibly on weekdays depending on passenger volume. The city government also noted that taking Route 795 of the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Muzha Pingxi Line” allows visitors to explore four major old streets—Shenkeng, Jingmei, Pingxi, and Shifen—as well as nearby attractions. Travelers can visit filming locations of several international movies, sample local snacks, experience the local culture, and take part in sky lantern activities.
