Tired of traffic jams and crowds during the Spring Festival? Ride a bike along the riverside at a park, wander through colorful flower fields, and admire beautiful art installations. The Taipei Water Resources Department recommends six must-visit riverside parks, each with its own unique theme and cultural history. Take advantage of the holiday to explore the lesser-known urban scenery of Taipei.

Deputy Director Chen Guozheng of the Water Resources Department said that if you want great spots for photos and fun, Guting Riverside Park is your top choice. It features a large expanse of vibrant flower fields as well as art installations. With such beautiful backdrops, you're guaranteed great photos and an even better mood.

No need to travel abroad to Paris — you can feel just as “romantic” in Taipei. Rainbow Bridge Riverside Park is themed around love, featuring a series of romantic installations. The LOVE and I LOVE U 3D letters stand on both sides of the riverbank, where couples can also lock their love padlocks together. The romantic atmosphere is perfect for strolling hand-in-hand.

Tired of luxury hotels? Huazhong Riverside Park offers camping facilities, letting you wake up to the chirping of birds. It also has a campfire party area where you can chat and bond with family and friends under the firelight and starry sky, creating irreplaceable memories. Dajia Riverside Park is also recommended, located near the “Yuanshan Station” on the Tamsui MRT line. You can easily visit the Flower Expo Museum, Taipei Story House, and the Taipei Fine Arts Museum.

Dadaocheng and Guandu Riverside Parks tell stories of centuries-old cultural heritage. Stroll through the historic buildings of Dadaocheng and listen to tales of old Taipei; at Guandu, migratory birds gather in flocks, and the riverbanks glow golden at dusk. Cycling between the two places fills your journey with endless stories.
