The Zhushan Ladder Bridge in Nantou to close for one day on New Year’s Eve; road traffic control to be enforced nearby

In response to the large number of visitors expected during the Lunar New Year period, the Nantou County Government’s Tourism Department announced that the Zhushan Ladder Bridge scenic area will be closed for a full day on New Year’s Eve, February 18, for preparation work and vehicle management. Visitors are advised not to go there.

To maintain service quality at the Zhushan Ladder Bridge area, ensure visitors enjoy the Spring Festival holiday to the fullest, and allow proper preparation of the scenic site, the county government has decided to follow past practice and close the bridge for one day on New Year’s Eve. Visitors are urged not to visit. Similar to previous years, the county will implement overall vehicle control. Two-way traffic will be allowed from Route 49 to the ticket booth, with control measures at the construction road entrance. At the second exit and connecting roads, only one side will be open for parking and one-way traffic will be enforced.

During the Lunar New Year holiday, if visitors plan to explore other attractions in the Zhushan area — such as the Zhushan Cultural Park, Bagua Tea Plantation, Zinan Temple, and Xiaping Nature Education Area — besides paying attention to opening hours, they should also tune into police radio traffic reports or contact the local tourism service center (049-2657668) for relevant information. In case of road congestion in the area, they may also consider visiting nearby attractions.
