New high achieved！Taoyuan Airport’s service quality ranks second globally in its category

The Airports Council International announced on February 16 the results of its 2014 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey. Among global airports handling between 25 million and 40 million passengers annually, Taoyuan International Airport secured second place, marking a historic high.

The top five airports are New Delhi Airport in India, Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport in mainland China, Shanghai Hongqiao Airport in mainland China, and Mumbai Airport in India.

In 2014, Taoyuan International Airport served 35.8 million passengers. Faced with fierce competition in airport service quality, Taoyuan will continue to enhance overall passenger services, including upgrading both soft and hard facilities, expanding Terminal 2, and holding an international design competition for Terminal 3 this year, all moving toward its goal of becoming a smart airport.

The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey conducted by Airports Council International (ACI) is recognized as the industry’s most comprehensive airport service benchmark. The survey includes 34 evaluation items covering passengers’ experiences at arrival and departure. In 2014, over 300 international airports participated in the assessment. The ASQ Awards are divided into four categories: Best Airport by Region, Best Airport by Size Category, Best Small Airport, and Best Airport by Improvement.
