The Hsinchu Veterans' Village Museum and the Glass Art Museum are open on the first and third days of the Lunar New Year!

Come to Hsinchu for a cultural and artistic journey during the Lunar New Year holiday. The Year of the Sheep Spring Festival holiday runs from February 18th (New Year’s Eve) to February 23rd (the fifth day), totaling six days. The Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau has scheduled a series of exhibitions and events on the first and third days of the Lunar New Year to provide the public with great places to visit during the festive season. To better serve the public, aside from the Glass Art Museum and the “Lichi Cultural Season,” which will be open on the first day of the Lunar New Year (February 19th), all other venues under the Hsinchu City Cultural Affairs Bureau will be fully open on the third day (February 21st).

The ongoing “2015 Lichi Cultural Season” at Hsinchu Park will run until April 5th. It features themed exhibitions such as “Bai Moxian - Wu Zongxian Glass Art Exhibition” and “Taiwan Colored Stained Glass Association Members’ Joint Exhibition,” along with a creative arts street, handmade happiness alley, holiday artist demonstrations, parent-child DIY activities, and street performances. These offer visitors a fresh experience during the Spring Festival, immersing them in a wealth of creative energy.

The Mei Yuan, Zhu Xuan, and Liuli galleries under the Cultural Affairs Bureau are showcasing the 13th Hsinchu City Wind City Art Exhibition, which runs until March 1st. This year’s theme is “A Happy and Livable Hsinchu City.” Through various media including watercolor, oil painting, ink wash, gouache, photography, calligraphy, crafts, and ceramics, the artworks present different creative perspectives.

The “Veterans' Village Museum” is hosting the special exhibition “3D Children’s Tales from Hsinchu Veterans' Villages,” inspired by the famous World War II battle in November 1943 when the Allies bombed Hsinchu Airport for the first time.
