"The sunset over Xiyu spills onto the sea"—this is the perfect time to go cycling in Penghu!

Penghu has made strides in promoting low-carbon cycling tourism in recent years. Building on last year’s network of hidden cycling routes, the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration will host the "Big and Little Penghu Friends ~ Ride into the Sunset" Guanyinting Bicycle Path Experience event on Saturday, March 21 at 4 PM. With a theme centered around family, the ocean, and healthy living, the event aims to showcase the cycling-friendly environment of Penghu.

According to the Penghu Administration, pedaling along the endless Guanyinting Coastal Bicycle Path, enjoying the sea breeze on your face, the chirping of skylarks, and the breathtaking view of the Xiyu sunset spilling golden light over the sea makes for a truly enchanting Penghu spring afternoon. The day’s event will conclude at dusk in the Guanyinting Coastal Leisure Park, where a kids’ cycling awareness class and a variety of fun activities await.

[Event Details]
Event Time: Saturday, March 21 at 4 PM
Route: Guanyinting Leisure Park → 713 Monument → Minzu Road → Zhongguang Weiling Temple → Xiwai Jian Shan Jiao (Stamp Station / Turnaround Point) → Zhongguang Seawall → Guanyinting Leisure Park (Cycling Awareness Class and Fun Activities). The full route is approximately 10 km and will take about 2 hours.
Participants: Children aged 6–12 (inclusive) in elementary school or below, along with their parents, who both have basic cycling abilities. Teams consist of two people (parent + child), with a total limit of 150 teams on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event Fee: NT$200
Notes: The cycling route primarily uses dedicated bike paths and rural roads. Some sections may have uneven surfaces, and coastal winds can be strong. Participants must not race and should assess their own physical condition with safety as the top priority. All participants will be covered by NT$1 million accident insurance during the event. Those who collect 2 commemorative stamps will receive one sports waist belt, one specialty kite, and one NT$200 voucher for the 13 Provinces Specialty Food Area per team.
