Spring has arrived! Colorful tabebuia trees are in full bloom, turning southern Taiwan into a sea of yellow

As spring quietly arrives, the streets of southern Taiwan — Kaohsiung and Tainan — are starting to glow with a warm ambiance from the colors of various tabebuia trees, among which the golden blooms are particularly eye-catching as they sway joyfully with the spring wind. The floral beauty can be admired just by walking through the city, offering an absolutely stunning view.

Originally native to tropical America, the red and golden tabebuia trees have adapted well to Kaohsiung’s climate, and their spectacular blooms are truly enchanting — their beauty rivals even that of early spring cherry blossoms. In areas such as Kaohsiung’s Riverside Community, Wenzao Section of Minzu Road, Daliao Jie West Road, Fengshan Jingwu Road, Fengxi Sports Park, Neimen Qiwun Road, Aozi Di Park, National Kaohsiung Normal University Peace Campus, and Niaosong Chengcing Lake, visitors can admire vast stretches of dazzling tabebuia blossoms. The Kaohsiung City Government also invites the public to come and welcome spring by enjoying the flowers, immersing themselves in the uniquely beautiful “breeze” of southern Taiwan.

In Tainan, the yellow tabebuia trees along streets such as Nanning Street, Lin Sen Road, and Dongfeng Road are also currently in full bloom. This year, thanks to stable weather conditions and ample sunshine in the south, the flowering is the most abundant in recent years. The best time for flower viewing is estimated to last until mid-March, so visitors are encouraged to make the most of it.
