A Must-Visit for Harry Potter Fans in London: The Hogwarts Express Opens on March 19

The iconic Hogwarts Express from Harry Potter, redesigned by the original train crew and Oscar-winning special effects artists, will be on display at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in the UK. It's hard to imagine that this train is already 78 years old.

According to Lonely Planet,on March 19, 2015, the Hogwarts Express will officially open to movie and book fans. Visitors can step aboard the train, originally named the 5972 Olton Hall. In addition to reliving the memory of Ron and Harry eating Chocolate Frogs, you can also enter the classic scene of the Dementor attack at Azkaban.

Actor Mark Williams, who played Ron’s father in the films, also boarded the train himself. “I’m truly happy to be back and see my old friend, the Hogwarts Express. It reminds me of some fun stories that happened at Platform 9¾ — the starting point of the Harry Potter story,” Williams said.

Dumbledore’s office, the Great Hall, and Diagon Alley are popular attractions at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Now, the iconic train has been added. “Visitors can experience Platform 9¾ firsthand, and many of the craftsmen from the Harry Potter film series will recreate the scenes. You can see the steam train running on its dedicated track,” said Sarah Roots, Deputy Director of the Studio Tour.
