Old Taiwan Bank Transforms into Yilan Art Museum; Classical Rose Garden Opens a Dining Hall

The Yilan Art Museum, renovated from the former Taiwan Bank branch, is still in its trial operation phase. The museum plans to repurpose the old bank's restaurant as a cultural and creative dining hall, managed by the Classical Rose Garden Group. Named "Yilan Art Museum Dining Hall," it will offer food services and cultural and creative product sales, and held a job recruitment event on the 3rd.

Lin Chiu-Fang, director of Yilan Art Museum, stated that the museum is located in the heart of Yilan City’s bustling area. Together with nearby landmarks such as Lancheng Crescent Mall, Jimmy Square, the County Historical Museum, Yilan Literature Museum, and Yilan Distillery, it has formed a strip-shaped cultural and artistic industry zone. Therefore, the museum plans to set up retail spaces within the venue to provide more comprehensive services for visitors.

The "Yilan Art Museum Dining Hall" is located in the cultural and creative dining space at the side entrance of the Yilan Art Museum. It features the Yilan Art Museum Lantern Road, Blue House Cultural & Creative Dining Area, and Youyou Garden. The exterior is designed with traditional Japanese wooden structures and slate-tiled roofs, with blue rain-shedding panels on the walls. The building was reconstructed by architects using original cypress wood, preserving the historical essence of the original structure while incorporating new glass architectural elements. With the ambiance reminiscent of old streets and shops in Kyoto, Japan, it presents a fresh look for cultural and creative dining.

Ticket Information: General admission NT$50, discounted ticket NT$30, industry ticket NT$20. Free entry for residents of Yilan County, seniors over 65, children under 6, individuals under 115 cm tall, students or people with disabilities and one accompanying person, Taiwan Bank employees, and Ministry of the Interior-certified honorary volunteers.
